He recently closed his gym and moved with his wife, their many cats and even more bikes, to Reno.

Saul incorporates many different tools, inlcuding barbells, kettlebells, Indian Clubs, sandbags, steel maces, several body weight systems like Origianl Srength and Animal Flow into a unique stregth and conditioning methodology that is movement-focused and education-driven.

What to expect: Your first appointment will be focussed on assessment. We will talk about your goals, your previous exercise experiences, prior injuries. We'll do the Functional Movment Screen and a core assessment and then come up with a 5 minute warm-up routine specifically for you. If we decide we are a good fit, the way we will progress will be to start from the inside (i.e. "the core") and work out, start from the ground and work up. Most athletes will progress to a some form of loaded squat, loaded hinge, building straight arm strength and loaded carries.

Saul specializes in helping athletes who have been injured and under the care of a licensed health care pratitioner "return to play." Athletes who have been successful with Saul include:
* A 45 year old woman with long-term back pain trained to complete a 10 day trip on the John Muir Trail
* A 65 year old male CFO learned to manage back pain so he can return to skiing and golf regularly
* A 32 year old software engineer and 40 year old father of two and business owner trained to compete in their first weighlifting meet
* A 45 year old mother of 3 and business owner with chronic shoulder pain can now do cartwheels and put her luggage in the overhead compartment
* Lead several groups training for events like Tough Mudder, Go Ruck and hiking up Half Dome

Training and Certifications:

* Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Level 1 & Level 2
* Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) Level 1 (Level 2 – in progress)
* Rock Tape Fascial Movement Taping (FMT Level I and II)
* Original Strength Training Systems Level 1 and Level 2
* Over 250 hours of massage school and working towards a massge license in Nevada

Kettlebells are a great addition to any strength and conditioning program but learning correct technique is critical for safety and effectiveness.

Each class will have a warm-up, then focus on the kettlebell favorites like the Swing, the Goblet Squat, the Get-Up, Windmills. Finally, we'll have a conditioning segment that will focus on the core and shoulder stability required to get the most out of a kettlebell workout.

This 45 minute lunch time class is perfect for endurance athletes who need to add a strength component to their program.
